An elongated wooden pen box with a hinged, domed lid, richly decorated by hand in the Rajasthani painting tradition. The composition depicts a finely dressed courtly figure flanked by two ceremonial elephants, adorned with colourful textiles and ornaments against a dark background of delicate foliage and flowers.

The decorative scene draws upon the imagery of Indian royal processions, traditionally associated with prestige and prosperity. Geometric and floral motifs extend across the sides, while the interior retains its warm reddish-brown finish.

The box shows age-related wear and minor losses to the painted surface, consistent with its decorative character.
