Mahogany Tilt-Top Tripod Table with Birdcage Mechanism

An oval mahogany table with a turned pedestal, three cabriole legs and pad feet. The birdcage construction beneath the top is designed to allow it to rotate and tilt vertically.

Attributed to England, circa 1750–1770. The surface retains signs of age and use. The dating, structural condition and operation of the mechanism have not been independently verified.
